If you ever find yourself lost and winding your way through its twisted city streets, just look up and the antennas will point you east, towards the river. From there you can walk north or south and arrive to a more recognisable part of the city.

See, from the pole, where frozen foun-
twins rise,
And pour their waters under torrid skies,
Where Rhines and Danubes, rills and
streamiest play,
To swell the pomp of Mississippi’s sea ;

I am a transplant, and my family are far away, and my family are here with me. Home is always where the heart lies and now it lies with them. Here and there. From the center of Seville, the antennas point to my home.
Nor Britons,Frenchmen,Germans,Swiss,
or Huns,
Of earth the natives, and of heaven the sons,
Regarding, loving, all the great and good,
Of ev’ry rank,clime,party,sect,and blood.

We are now in the beginning of our 6th week in confinement in Spain, day 37. No school, no Seño, no classmates. Only essential jobs, physical distancing, no walks around the block, no cañas with friends in the plaza, no slides, no swings.
Or through th’ immense of science wind
his way;
Or lift poetic wings beyond the day;
The ridgy front of death for freedom dare,
Or,round all regions, hush the voice of war.

I went out last week and met two men who live in the street. Every night for the previous week they had been attacked and their ‘houses’ ransacked.
Yet major powers have signed ceasefires and carbon emissions are down around the globe. Yet my home is improving, slowly, yet my old home is tearing itself apart, slowly.
On nature’s ocean, science lifts her sails,
Finds other stars, and catches nobler gales;
While dawning virtue beams from yonder
sky,
And brighter suns arise on human joy.
And thro’ the mis’ries of a thousand years,
Their fatal folly mourn in bloody tears.
Ten thousand follies through Columbia
spread;
Ten thousand wars her darling realms in-vade,

A gradual return to normality means gloves and masks and isolation and distance and time. Irreplaceable time.
And the physical trauma. And the psychological.
Of twenty-some more days confined, and the after.

To fill my days I look to the skies, and follow the antennas, receiving, pointing to towers radiating information or misinformation, pointing to home(s), and my feelings of home(s), equivalents.
The weak to strengthen, and the rigid
bend;
The prurient lop; what’s wanted to sup-

And graft new cons from each kindly sky;
