PHO704: week 12

At this point, I find it helps to review the Learning outcomes for each of the assignments in the module, to perhaps contextualize the work that I've been doing, and to hopefully show those marking the assignments, that work has indeed been put into thinking about what we should be taking away from the module

PHO704: week 10

One must consider Hockney and his use of photography, not only through his well-known series of photocollages, Joiners.  According to Lawrence Weschler, Hockney used photography, much like Ruscha, as a tool, to stoke his memory.  Many painters will use sketches to fill out work on the canvas in their studios, and Hockney added photo studies.

PHO704: week 9

Ed Ruscha: painter, illustrator, printmaker, filmmaker, bookmaker and photographer extraordinaire.  First introduced in this program as a següe into PHO703 from PHO702 with the Ed Ruscha challenge, to make a 'zine' in the downtime between.  The American artist based in LA has created work that, according to Alexandra Schwartz in the introduction to her collection

PHO704: week 8

Another light week content-wise, on all of our behalves I imagine.  Though I have been able to do a whole bunch of thinking and some ideas have come to mind, including the construction of 3-d images thanks to conversations with Laura and Colin over the past two (3?) weeks.

PHO704: Week 7

This week I met with my cohort-mates Phil Hill and Paul Moran for some peer feedback.

PHO704: week 6

This week we had normal webinars with our classmates where we were supposed to discuss the oral presentations that we have supposedly been working on.

PHO704: week 5

Late to the update party again, as I was working most of the weekend and have just shaken off the fog of work and mustered the strength to sit down and type.

PHO704: week 4

Another week of crushing work and little production

PHO704: week 3

This week has been light on work as I’ve been on surprise childcare duty thanks to Covid-19.

PHO704: week 2

This week is off to a slow / late start as, as feared, my son’s class has been quarantined until Oct. 13th and so, once again, I have the kids at home, with the added bonus of being unable to take one of them out of the house, though the rest of us can leave,

PHO704: Week 1

As an introductory week, this one was quite light.

PHO704: Week 0

Walls, that’s what comes to mind this module.
